The 2007 Visma Formula Palmer Audi Championship was one of the most enthralling yet, boasting seven different race winners in a season that went right down to the wire.

Tim Bridgman walked away from Croft as Champion, but for much of the season he was involved in a three-way battle with Luciano Bacheta and Stefan Wilson. Bacheta was strong in the early part of the season, while Bridgman’s mid-season performances put him right at the top of the standings. Wilson pushed Bridgman right until the bitter end, and his reward for doing so was a place among the finalists for the 2007 McLaren Autosport BRDC Award.

The title fight was just one of the sources of drama in a sensational year for FPA, as the championship re-positioned itself as the ultimate affordable training ground for aspiring young talent.

The 2007 Visma Formula Palmer Audi Autumn Trophy had the series' strongest ever driver line-up, and with the FPA Shootout at Snetterton also deciding the final contender for the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award, a super-competitive battle was assured.

Four race winners later, Richard Keen was crowned Autumn Trophy champion, whilst FPA newcomer Nick Tandy won the Shootout and secured his chance to win the award that helped David Coulthard, Jensen Button and Anthony Davidson reach Formula 1.

Tim Bridgeman was back behind the wheel having won the main FPA title, but despite two podiums including a win, the newly crowned champion lost out to Keen.

Will Bratt, Jack Clarke and Ryan Lewis all battled at the front of the field and stood on the podium, proving that young guns are back in force in FPA.
